Hair by Teresa Callen
A design made with her natural curls for prom. This photo is before she changed into her formal occasion wear. The bright lighting shows her natural highlights.
The back of this design created to emulate a waterfall effect of her natural curls, with braids and twists to withstand an evening of dancing. This is before she changed into a lovely gown.
The hair was carefully twisted, strand by strand, into a shape below the crown that was attractive in profile. A delicate ponytail was draped the the left side and curled. The design was created to withstand a full evening of dancing and movement.
The front of her updo was created to add enough height to balance out her face and work well with the crown.
The make-up was natural with a delicate smokey eye and coral lip with a slight gloss. The eyebrows were enhanced slightly for better stage effect.
A very delicate silver sparkle spray was added to her hairstyle, so she shimmered a bit in the lights. It was very subtle but looked lovely while she danced. This gal has naturally curly hair. We did smooth it for this event.
Natural curl for that special occasion.
Hair is updo made from her natural curl. Makeup was understated glam made to bring out her lovely eyes.
Updo using natural curl with a few ironed curls made into a bun. A few bling pins were added for evening sparkle.
This was our second event. She wanted a fuller side pony-tail and more use of her natural curl. There are three braids in this hair design, each braid wrapped into and around the side pony-tail. We decided on a side part for this occasion. A large iron was used to smooth some of her hair into a larger curl. The crown was sewn into the hair to withstand a mile walk in a parade and a great deal of movement.
The makeup was fresh and soft to look good in daylight. Her eyebrows were enhanced for a bit more impact from a distance. Most of her day was on an alter, and as the honored individual in a mile long parade. The crown and hair was designed to look great with the lovely robe.
